A Dance Teacher & Choreographer in Maniratari Dance Company

I left my painting's activity many years ago & just started again after I've finished teaching and (trying) to educate my young dance students who are most from humble families. The last 'generation' student stayed more than 13 years (started when they were 9-10 years). Now they're able to start their life by their own as good dancers & choreographers in a good ballet school & dance companies in Jakarta, and I've my time for my paintings now but still got nothing to inform.

Born in Solo, Central Java, July 10, 1948. His art education at the School of Visual Arts journey in Indonesia, Yogyakarta (1965-1966), Wied also fills his artistic activity with training in Theatre Workshop Theatre Renda (1966-1969) and follow exercises in group dance Slasuka. In 1976-1977, began studying jazz and modern dance techniques of classical ballet base then follow the practice of contemporary dance at the Escuela Centro de Dance, Madrid, Spain and worked as a dancer at the Teatro Biombo Chino. Year 1979 - 1984 returned to Europe and worked while studying at Dance Courses, West Germany and Austria. Also helped fill the summer gigs in Finland and Norway, had followed the dance festival in Kalsruhe, West Germany and Dance Festival in Maseru, Lesotho (Africa).

Returned to Indonesia in 1984. On December 5, 1985, he established Studio Maniratari with the purpose of teaching dance and educate the children of families who came down to the middle of his hometown of Solo. It is said that the process of creative growth through a simple natural flow. While the experiences and struggles through which root formation is an essential element for the growth and power of creativity and the power to endure. In 1987, he was given the opportunity to learn about classical ballet in Sumber Cipta, a ballet dance studio head Farida Oetoyo.

At first the type of dance that dikoreograferi by Wied takes strength to survive, especially the recognition of the people who have cultural roots and traditions but her strong and diverse dance forms only serves as a medium to embody the expression to be conveyed. While the weight of the work that will emerge from the core of the most basic and personal of lost interest in itself. Thus emerged a kind of 'Individuality' which distinguishes his work with the work of the lain.Melalui his works, he shows foresight on the behavior and properties of a variety of children's lives around and reflect on the current generation of children.

It is not surprising then that his Maniratari ballet dance studio is able to survive to this day. There have been many dance productions, choreographer, dancer emerging from this workshop, Siko Setyanto for example, he was one of the disciples of Wied who trained since the age of 9 years and has been a reliable male dancer as well as choreographer productive.

Noted works of dance and dance theater ever dikoreografinya among others, Once Upon A Time (1987) performed at RRI Surakarta. Ka Ra Ta Ta Ka (1989) staged in Central Java Cultural Park, Surakarta. Vignette (1990) staged in Central Java Cultural Park, Surakarta. Sea Breathe (1990) staged in Jakarta. Combat (1991) staged the Central Java Cultural Park, Surakarta. Now the choreographer who had attended the first Gathering of Women Choreographers in Surakarta, Central Java Cultural Park also pursue painting. His career as a dancer and influenced many colors into paintings that practiced it. But there is one who has not done the intention to dominate the Javanese dance, curiosity to master the dance, once treated by having the friend who had studied in Mangkunegaran three grandchildren grandmother to teach it. But what can I say, he admitted very difficult to learn the dance at the age of twilight
